TOMU WINE

The biennial Taipei Biennale has opened grandly at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum.

The biennial Taipei Biennial has officially opened at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum—
a grand gathering where more than 75 international artists and over 150 works come together, filling the city’s autumn and winter with a gentle yet unmistakable artistic atmosphere.

Art has never existed only within the walls of a gallery—
it flows into the seams of daily life, settling into what we eat, wear, dwell in, and move through, becoming the details that shape everyday experience.
And this year, a quiet dialogue between taste and art begins here: TOMU × Wild Open Space.

Enter a space where breathing begins anew

Winter light glides across the glass façade of the museum, softening the city’s pace.

Follow the wooden steps down to the basement level, and you will find Wild Open Space (WOS)
a place where the mind settles, senses recalibrate, and inspiration breathes freely.

In the context of this year’s Biennial, WOS invites TOMU to collaborate, allowing the space to not only respond to the exhibition’s theme, but also welcome a scent that feels both new and deeply familiar.

Rooted in Taiwanese millet and written through brewing,
the light effervescence of millet sparkling wine and the gentle warmth of millet sake become a form of fluid art in the glass.
Between artworks and shifting light, another aesthetic is quietly awakened—a vocabulary of art shaped through flavor.

✧ 望山穗:以風味作為情感的線索

TOMU: Flavor as the thread of emotion

Founded in 2022, TOMU centers itself on the philosophy:
“Taiwanese flavor × traditional blessings × contemporary sensibility.”
Using millet to ferment the memories of the land, it carries blessings through the language of taste.

From grains sprouting, fermentation taking shape, to aromas unfolding—
every step is a creation completed jointly by time and nature.

  • Packaging awarded Gold at the International Design Awards (UK)
  • Product line includes millet sake, millet sparkling wine, and fruit–tea expressions such as ponkan citrus and red oolong
  • Each bottle reinterprets Taiwan’s cultural warmth and sensory language through flavor

TOMU believes:
“A good bottle does not stop at taste—it is memory, emotion, and the shape of a blessing.”

And this time marks the brand’s first formal entry into a contemporary art setting—
a journey from land to city, from dining table to exhibition hall—responding to art through flavor,
answering its questions through the act of tasting.

✧ Taipei Biennial: A Whisper as the Beginning of Reconnection

The 14th Taipei Biennial, “Whispers Along the Horizon,” invites visitors to reflect:
“In times of turbulence and uncertainty, how do we continue to believe in connection?”

Within this context, WOS—where TOMU is featured—becomes a place to:

pause,
unwind,
and let emotions quietly surface.

When the exhibition asks you to listen for the inner whisper,
TOMU uses flavor to let those emotions find an echo on the tongue.

Bottling Blessings: Millet Sparkling Wine 5-Bottle Gift Set

To accompany its presence at the Biennial, TOMU unveils a limited selection:

“Millet Sparkling Wine – Five-Bottle Gift Set”
Flavors include: Original / Green Plum / Peach / Yuzu / Ponkan

Each bottle is an unopened letter of blessings—
bubbles as a moment of blossoming,
fruit aroma as a quiet new beginning.

A Millet Sake Gift Box is also available,
a pure-brewed tribute to land, time, and craftsmanship.

“We ferment blessings into each bottle, gifting them to everyone walking their own path.”

WOS: A Place for Buffering, Exchange, and Feeling

WOS is not a café. It is:

a holding space for inspiration,
a buffer zone for thought,
a spiritual relay point within the city.

Through:

  • pop-up dining programs
  • curated tastings and music selections
  • cultural talks and creator dialogues

Here, drinking isn’t merely “having a glass”—it is participating in a cultural exchange.

The Cross-disciplinary Whisper of Flavor and Art

The resonance between TOMU and WOS is more than a brand collaboration;
it is a cross-disciplinary creation where flavor becomes language and terroir becomes context.

A single sip holds—

the memory of the land,
the breath of the city,
and a toast to everyday life.

Let flavor become the next line of poetry in art.

TOMU:望哩順遂

a homophonic blessing in Taiwanese, symbolizing “smoothness and good harvests”

As art whispers along the horizon,
the bubbles in the glass gently respond.

This time, we invite you to raise a glass in the light—
to art, to the land, to emotion, and to what lies ahead.

A toast to art.
A toast to taste.
A toast to the stories yet to be told.
