Kaohsiung 2025 International Wine Expo
Looking Forward to Seeing You – Let’s Taste the Flavor of Taiwan Together with TOMU
The Taste of the Land, Bottled into Wine
Between the mountains and sea of Hualien lies a patch of land untouched by pesticides. Every spring, millet slowly grows under the rhythm of sun and rain. Each grain ripens through the tireless effort of farmers, who bend down time and again to hand-pull weeds. No pesticides are sprayed—though it makes each harvest slower and more labor-intensive, it also makes it more honest.
This land nurtures more than crops—it carries a belief. And the story of TOMU begins with these very grains of millet.
Making its appearance at this year’s International Wine Expo is TOMU’s signature Millet Sake, brewed with organic millet grown through contract farming in Hualien. Infused with Japanese sake-making techniques, each step—washing, soaking, fermenting, and filtering—is carried out with precision and care. The resulting sake is amber-clear, with a gentle aroma that blends earthy taro and soft rice notes, perfect whether served chilled or as part of a crafted cocktail.
At TOMU, we hope people will see that this is more than just a bottle of wine. It holds the landscape of the land, the passage of seasons, the warmth of farmers’ hands, and the meeting of tradition and innovation—quietly captured in a bottle.
We believe that winemaking is not merely a craft, but a shared experience—one that allows us to savor the stories of this land. And at this year’s expo, through tasting and conversation, we look forward to sharing those stories with you.
This time, we bring with us the fragrance of the land. Come take a sip—and taste the essence of a year’s worth of spring sowing and autumn harvest.

Savor the Stories of Taiwan
Did you know that millet wine in Taiwan was once reserved only for special occasions?
Among the Amis people, millet wine is more than a drink—it is a sacred offering to the heavens and ancestors, a bridge through which emotions flow. To raise a glass is not merely to taste a flavor, but to drink in the memory of a culture.
TOMU’s founder, originally from an educational background, discovered the deeper value of millet wine while teaching and living in Taiwan’s East Coast Indigenous communities:
“It’s not just about bottling the drink—it’s about keeping the memory alive.”
Through contract farming with small-scale millet growers in eastern Taiwan, TOMU ensures that this cultural legacy doesn’t remain confined to the few, but can be understood—and tasted—by the world.
We believe culture isn’t a static exhibit. It’s a living language—one that can be opened, poured, and shared in a toast. TOMU’s label design blends traditional weaving patterns with modern visual language, turning each gift and each sip into the beginning of a cultural conversation.
In addition to our classic selections, we’re excited to debut new flavors at this year’s expo: Millet Green Plum Sparkling Wine and Millet Peach Sparkling Wine. These innovations allow culture to move from the background to the foreground—so that every glass raised becomes a warm expression of life itself.

Infusing Creativity into the Land
What is creativity? To TOMU, it’s not about flashy packaging or catchy slogans—it’s the courage to reinterpret the memory of the land.
Millet wine exists in Taiwan, in the Indigenous tribes—but not in Japan. Sake exists in Japan, with its refined craftsmanship and centuries of tradition. TOMU chooses not between the two, but to blend them: we apply sake-grade brewing standards to create Taiwan’s own millet wine. Through repeated washing, gentle steaming, precise temperature control, fermentation, refrigeration, and filtration, we craft a wine that is clear, smooth, delicately sweet and tart—light as juice yet rich with depth.
We constantly experiment with flavor—incorporating fruits and bubbles—to create approachable blends that connect with younger audiences and international palates alike.
At this year’s expo, TOMU proudly unveils our brand-new Festive Gift Box series. Designed for various occasions—weddings, friendly gatherings, Mid-Autumn gifting—these sets make wine not only something to drink, but something to give, to share, and to cherish. Even before the bottle is opened, it carries a heartfelt message.
We believe creativity doesn’t detach from the land—it collaborates with it.
Through TOMU, Taiwan’s terroir finds a new language, a new way to be tasted, and a new path to the world.
