On this hopeful July evening of change, the “Inauguration of President BOX of Fengyuan East Rotary Club” was grandly held at The Lin Hotel in Taichung. More than a leadership transition, the event was a cultural feast blending warmth, art, and local aesthetics.

Distinguished international guests from the Philippines attended the event, symbolizing the deepening friendship between Taiwan and the global community. We are honored that TOMU was invited to participate in this Rotary presidential inauguration as a guest of cultural exchange. Through the medium of wine, we shared not only flavor but also emotion, serving as a bridge between Taiwan and the world, tradition and innovation.

This invitation is more than recognition of our brand’s philosophy—it reflects a broader appreciation for the intersection of cultural heritage and innovation. It was not merely a product showcase, but a meaningful dialogue sparked by wine and carried forward through culture.

Bridging Local and Global: Building Meaningful Connections

In his address, President BOX stated, “As members of Rotary, our mission goes beyond serving the local community—we are also a force that connects the world. We are honored to welcome Rotary partners from the Philippines at this important moment, symbolizing the continued growth of friendship between Taiwan and the international community.”

Several Rotary representatives from the Philippines attended the event, engaging in cultural and philosophical exchange while also witnessing how a local Taiwanese brand like TOMU tells the story of its land and connects people—one glass at a time.

TOMU: From the Land to Tables Around the World

Born between the mountains and sea of Taiwan’s East Coast, TOMU is a wine brand rooted in the land. Using glutinous millet and local crops as its core ingredients, TOMU blends traditional Taiwanese culture with Japanese sake-brewing techniques to craft innovative expressions of uniquely Taiwanese flavors.

At the event, TOMU presented its signature products—the Millet Sake and Sparkling Millet Series—inviting guests to savor the depth of Taiwan’s terroir and the gentle warmth of millet in every sip.

Founder Toudou shared on stage: “TOMU’s original intention is to create wines that are deeply rooted in emotion and origin. Through traditional craftsmanship and modern innovation, we hope to establish a distinctive wine culture for Taiwan. This is more than a beverage—it’s a way to connect with the land.”

Much like Rotary’s mission to “connect the world and serve locally,” TOMU is committed to being a cultural bridge—starting from tradition, embracing innovation, and bringing the rich flavors of Taiwan to the global stage.

Where Art Takes a Seat — Redefining the Inauguration Experience

Beyond the rich aroma of wine, the evening also featured a unique artistic performance by a soprano and a pipa player, guiding the audience on a cultural journey through sound and melody. The soaring clarity of the vocals intertwined with the traditional tones of the pipa, creating a dialogue between past and present—mirroring the spirit of the event itself: boundary-breaking and full of possibility.

Guests described it as one of the most heartfelt Rotary gatherings they had ever attended:
“From taste to sound, from connection to emotion—every moment of the evening was truly unforgettable.”

A New President, A New Vision — A Meaningful Beginning

In his speech, President BOX shared his vision for the future: to promote cross-sector collaboration and international exchange, connecting more local brands like TOMU through culture and human connection as bridges between Taiwan and the world.

Amidst the lights, music, and aroma of wine, this evening was more than an inauguration—it was a celebration of ideals and a cultural journey forward.
